One of the most loved presents that I ever gave. Nate loves his AB (animal blanket) quilt. I have to mend the seams periodically. It had been loved almost to death

I was given a roll of 4 1/2″ wide Aunt Gracie 30’s reproduction prints, I made this simple
design to not waste any of it. I also added men’s oxford shirting stripes salvaged from shirts.

I bought the huge scale circle fabric first for this quilt,
which represents the bubble towers in the lobby at the National Aquarium in
Baltimore,MD. the other blocks have fish centers and are tilted.
I call this ” I got seasick at the Baltimore Aquarium”.

This quilt was commissioned by my second son, Jacob Peck for his lovely lady, Amanda Call. She graduated from Skyline H.S. in Salt Lake City, UT on June 6, 2003. She is very feminine. I like the way the purple and yellow hearts just seemed to be her. All the squares on my denim quilts are 6 1/2″ by 6 1/2″. The hearts are just appliqued down.
Here is a lovely pic of Amanda and her graduation quilt.

Never met a kid yet who could resist these quilts full
of different novelty fabrics! We have collected tons
of prints over the years and made many of these
happy kids twin sized quilts.

Queen Size - backed in flannel and tied
Designed and pieced by Jessica Lowry with help from Nancy Lowry, Walter Lowry and Marian Tworek Thanks Team!

Pictures of family and friends working on the quilt… first picture has Amanda, my sweet daughter-in-law on the left and Rachel, my niece on the right.
This quilt is my first foray into serious piecing.

I wanted it to be a fancy block but I am most comfortable with thangles. I found this SPLIT NINE PATCH design in my mom’s book “501 Quilt Blocks”. It looks fancy and it uses thangles. I got pinks from Nana’s and Marian’s stashes and for Christmas, Natalie sent me pinks from her stash in Utah.

I made lots of pink and muslin thangles using a quick paper method. I love thangles!! Then I cut them apart and ironed them all. Next for me it was just like a puzzle, with everything going together neatly. I had fun using all these different shades of pinks. I always make lots of extras. This way, I have enough to make sure all the colors are good and I give the leftovers to my mom or sister to make charity quilts or baby quilts. (plus it’s a reward to them for helping me so much) This quilt was tied by the Damascus Ward Relief Society of the LDS Church. Thanks Ladies!
I gave this one to my dear friend Belle Wilcox.

This a quilt mom gave me, it is very old and has the teeniest hand-quilting in a grid pattern,I will never hand quilt, takes too much time for me, plus it would mean that I stayed home, which i never do either. MarianTworek

I believe each square is 1 1/2 inches to make a three-inch four-patch block

This is my sister Jessica’s favorite quilt that I have made.

Azure, turquoise, sapphire, royal, sky, cloud, periwinkle, midnight, Quaker, teal… They are all here.
This quilt was done using an interesting form of paper piecing my sister, Marian Tworek told me about. I used adding machine tape that she had bought at the thrift store for a dollar a roll. I cut it into strips that were 6 1/2 inches long. To the strips I sewed blue fabric that I had cut into strips of varying widths. I didn’t try to make any of them even or straight. I used up almost all of my mothers blue stash. This quilt has more than 2,000 pieces of blue fabric. Now it will go off to The Quilt Shop in West Valley City, Utah to be quilted. Since I couldn’t afford to get it quilted i gave it to my Best Friend Kayleen West. I knew she would love it and treasure it also. She is going to have it quilted and send me some pics. They have great rates and do wonderful work.
